Running a Marathon for the First time? How did I ran my First Full Marathon I am an amateur aged 43 year and I am writing this based on my experience after running my first full marathon in Chennai Wipro marathon 2015 held on Jan. 2016.     Half Marathon: Running a marathon seemed to be a dream unless I started practising. My practise for the first half marathon started 6 months before the race ie. June. My initial calculations are that I must practice to walk for 21 Km so that I can complete the half marathon either by walking or by running. So, I started to walk for 1hour daily in the evening for 1 month. I walked in the regular roads. I usually walk in any direction for 30 minutes and then return in the same way. This method I have practised for every walking. Later on, I increased the time to 1.30 hrs for another 1 month and 2 hours for the next 1 month. Driving necessity: Note down the reason of using your car whether it is for city drive or for highway driving. If you are going to use the car for city drive never think of going for an big car.
