Running a Marathon for the First time? How did I ran my First Full Marathon I am an amateur aged 43 year and I am writing this based on my experience after running my first full marathon in Chennai Wipro marathon 2015 held on Jan. 2016.     Half Marathon: Running a marathon seemed to be a dream unless I started practising. My practise for the first half marathon started 6 months before the race ie. June. My initial calculations are that I must practice to walk for 21 Km so that I can complete the half marathon either by walking or by running. So, I started to walk for 1hour daily in the evening for 1 month. I walked in the regular roads. I usually walk in any direction for 30 minutes and then return in the same way. This method I have practised for every walking. Later on, I increased the time to 1.30 hrs for another 1 month and 2 hours for the next 1 month.
